Michael Williams
Managing Partner & Chief Development OfficerMichael Williams joined Hazelview Investments in February 2020 and currently serves as Managing Partner & Chief Development Officer. In this role, Michael provides executive oversight of Hazelview’s national development platform, leading strategy, execution, and investment across the firm’s purpose-built rental pipeline.
Michael has been instrumental in establishing and scaling Hazelview’s development business into a nationally recognized, full-cycle platform. His leadership is grounded in disciplined execution, operational integrity, and long-term value creation. Under his direction, the team has delivered award-winning rental communities that reflect strong performance fundamentals, sustainable design principles, and high-quality resident experiences.
As Chief Development Officer, Michael continues to lead the national development platform while also assuming broader responsibilities across strategic growth initiatives, organizational effectiveness, and partner and investor relationships. He is committed to building a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on excellence, accountability, and innovation.
Michael has over 15 years of experience in real estate development, asset management, and investment. He previously worked at Hazelview from 2012 to 2018 as part of the Capital and Development teams. During his time away from the firm, he served as Senior Vice President, Asset Management at Clifton Blake Asset Management, where he led the private equity investment group.
Michael completed the Executive Commercial Real Estate Program at Cornell University, obtained his PMP certification from the University of Toronto, holds a LEED Green Associate designation from the Canada Green Building Council, and completed the GSI Project Management program through the Canadian Construction Association. He studied Commerce at the University of Toronto.
